BRIGHTON -- Brighton High School held serve on the home floor twice Friday night and beat rival Prairie View in non-conference prep basketball.
Brighton rallied from a 10-point, third-quarter deficit to beat the ThunderHawks 62-51 in overtime. BHS' Bryana Reyes, who scored 10 points, made the game-tying 3-pointer with 22 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and Aili Kremer made a 3-pointer on Brighton's first possession of overtime to give the Bulldogs the lead for good.
Brielle Brady led BHS with 20 points. Kremer added 11. No stats were available for Prairie View late Friday night.
BHS and the T-Hawks played a close first half. But Brighton put on the defense in the second half and won 63-44.
The T-Hawks had a five-point lead at intermission, but Brighton erupted for 29 points in the third quarter. No stats were immediately available for either squad late Friday night.
BHS hosts Northglenn in the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference opener at 7 p.m. Jan. 18. PVHS heads for Douglas County High School at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 16.
