BHS' White captures shot put title at state pentathlon

BRIGHTON — Brighton’s Erika White captured the championship of the girls discus May 28 at the Colorado State Pentathlon at Brighton High School.

Her top throw was 31 feet 3 1/4 inches.

The Bulldogs’ Nick DeSplinter also turned in a top-10 effort in the high jump. He finished sixth with a best jump of 5-5 3/4.

Prairie View’s top finisher was Bianca Asheim in the shot put. She took sixth with a best throw of 26-10 3/4.
