BRIGHTON — There’s one way to tell that the holiday season is upon us. It’s the 17th annual Festival of Lights and tree-lighting ceremony.
This year, activities begin in historic downtown Brighton at 11 a.m. Dec. 8. It’s a chance to come and see the lights and participate in several activities.
Winter festival activities start at 2 p.m., and the annual light parade begins at 5 p.m. The parade features local groups, organizations, businesses and families who will share the holiday spirit with everyone.
Historically, the parade includes more than 75 fully lighted entries, and all entries will highlight this year’s theme, “A Hometown Holiday Tradition.” The tree-lighting ceremony, featuring the mayor and Brighton city council members, takes place before the parade.
There are opportunities to sign up as sponsors, as vendors, as volunteers or as host groups.
Everything planned for Dec. 8 is free. Call 303-655-2218 with questions.
