COMMERCE CITY -- Team Canada made sure there wouldn't be a repeat of its loss to the United States in the 2010 world lacrosse championships July 19.
Team Canada sprinted out to an 8-2 lead and beat the Americans 8-5 in the finals before 12,000 fans at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Kevin Leveille scored three goals for the United States.
Colorado Mammoth goalkeeper Dillon Ward, who also plays for Team Canada, was the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Canada has won two of the last three world lacrosse titles.
