Commerce City officer loses control of vehicle, crashes into city snow plow en route to Adams County Jail

COMMERCE CITY -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a Commerce City patrol car was hit by a city snow plow early Tuesday morning, Jan. 29.

According to Commerce City police spokesman Lt. Dennis Moon, an officer was driving northbound in the 8900 block of Highway 2 while transporting a man and woman to the Adams County Jail and lost control of the vehicle.

According to police, a Commerce City snow plow heading southbound hit the patrol car after the officer lost control of the vehicle.

Both the man and woman were taken to local hospital for evaluation; neither the officer nor the snow plow driver were injured in the collision.

While poor road conditons likely contributed to the collision, the crash is under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol.
