BRIGHTON — The Adams County Board of Commissioners voted Monday, March 17, to approve a construction of about 23 miles of new pipeline as part of the White Cliffs Twin Pipeline project.
The project — spanning about 527 miles between Plateville and Cushing, Okla. — is set to run parallel to an existing pipeline, doubling the capacity.
The move was prompted due to the increase in oil and gas production in Weld County and the capacity-level work already being done at the Suncor Refinery.
The pipeline is planned to to be placed within the same easement as the current pipeline, which runs through the northeast corner of Adams County.
The pipeline’s path in Adams County begins about 168th Avenue and Peoria Crossing Road and travels southeast to East 72nd Avenue and Meridian Road.
