COMMERCE CITY -- Authorities continued to investigate a crash that killed a 52-year-old motorcyclist and injured four Adams City High School students.
No names have been released.
It happened near state Highway 2 and Quebec Parkway around 3 p.m.. April 18. Police said the driver of a Dodge Neon lost control of her car and collided with a northbound motorcycle. The driver, 16, was at Denver Health Medical Center in serious condition. Two 16-year-old male passengers were at Children's Hospital in Aurora with what police called "non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth occupant of the car, an 18-year-old female, was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released.
Police said over the weekend that alcohol and speed may have bee contributing factors in the crash. Police and Adams County School District 14 will be providing support services to students families and staff at Adams City High School during the week.
The crash and its investigation closed state Highway 2 for almost six hours. Police continued to investigate.
