Esperanza Hernandez-Perez, 90, of Thornton, passed away Feb. 15, 2013. She was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Harbor City, Calif., to Enriquez Hernandez and Refugio Alvarado. She married Julio Perez in April 1942, in Tacoma, Wash.
Esperanza is survived by her children, Angelina Luedecke, of Oro Valley, Ariz., Gerald Perez, of Thornton, Ruben Perez, of Harbor City, Calif., Julio Perez, Jr., of Norwalk, Calif., Alfred Perez, of Thornton, and Charles James Perez, of Carson, Calif.; two brothers, Jimmy Hernandez, of Wilmington, Calif., and Robert Hernandez, of Las Vegas, Nev.; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julio Perez, in 1982; one son, Henry Perez in 2004; two brothers and one sister.
All services will be held in California. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
