Flora Fernandez

    Flora Fernandez, 61, passed away Jan. 12, 2012, at her home. She will be greatly missed.

    Flora was born Sept. 18, 1950, in Las Gallinas, N.M., to Juan & Annie (Sena) Sandoval. She was a resident of Brighton for 42 years. She worked for Storage Tech for 10 years.
    Flora enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, reading and watching movies. Her family described her as very outgoing, caring, loving, and happy person. She loved her grandchildren deeply.
    Flora is survived by her children, Anna Vargas (David), Christine Beggs (Ray), all of Brighton, Joey Montoya (Lorraine), of Denver, Brian Montoya (Veronica,) of Brighton; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews; special friend, Mark Dixon, of Brighton; 13 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Meggie Sandoval.
    A celebration of life service was Jan. 17 at the Healing Place in Brighton. Interment followed at Fort Logan National Cemetery  in Denver.
