Football: Prairie View races past Norse

BRIGHTON -- RJ Ramirez scored three touchdowns. Donovan Otero added two, and quarterback Ben Meraz threw a touchdown pass to lead Prairie View to an easy 48-13 homecoming win against Northglenn Oct. 10.

Ramirez scored on a 68-yard punt return in the first quarter and added a 62-yard run in the second period. He wrapped up his scoring with a 65-yard run early in the third period. Otero's touchdowns came on a 67-yard run and a 2-yard plunge. Meraz threw a 10-yard scoring pass to Tavish Whelan. Zac Crispin opened the scoring for the T-Hawks with an 18-yard run.

Ramirez finished with 179 rushing yards on nine carries. Otero carried the ball five times for 162 yards. Meraz was a perfect 5-for-5 for 51 yards. Whelan caught four of those passes for 34 yards.

PVHS travels to Denver East in a Flatirons Conference showdown at All-City Stadium Oct. 17. Both teams are undefeated in conference play. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
