Demolition work on the the former Mile High greyhound track in Commerce City got under way this past week as workers began razing the grandstands. Completion of this portion of work is expected to take two to three months. The city was able to save more than $500,000 on the $1.4-million contract by allowing the general contractor, Fiore and Sons, to recycle much of the debris.
