COMMERCE CITY -- The trees were twinkling. There was a chill in the air. The Kemp Elementary School choir sang Christmas carols.
No question about it. The holidays were the main thought on the minds of those who attended Derby Winter Festival 2011 Friday night at 72nd Place and Monaco Street.
In addition to the singing, the trees and the cold weather, stores were open so youngstgers could make and send Christmas cards to Santa. There was a place to make holiday cookies, and there was a spot to board a horse-drawn carriage, too.
