James V. (Jimmy) Carlson, 81, of Fort Lupton, passed away Feb. 13, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1931, in Calipatira, Calif., to Albert and Beulah (Durland) Carlson. He attended school at Hazeltine Elementary School and Denver School for the Blind. He married Mary Denton on Sept. 23, 1961, in Henderson.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mary, of Fort Lupton; two sons, James Jr., of Fort Lupton, and Michael (Connie), of Brighton; sisters, Hattie McCoy, of Brighton, and Judy Minard, of Texas; brother, Robin Carlson, of Montana; four grandchildren, Jennifer, James III, Michael Jr. and Nancy.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; one sister, Barbara and one brother, John, both in 1993.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home.
