Local reaction is positive to concussion recognition law

DENVER – The new law that requires annual concussion recognition education on the part of middle school and recreation facility coaches is OK with an area coach and with an area youth sports coordinator.
    The Legislature passed the bill last week. The required education includes recognition of concussion symptoms, means of obtaining proper medical attention for athletes suspected of having a concussion and information on the nature and risk.
