One dead, another driver injured in two-vehicle crash in Commerce City

COMMERCE CITY — One person was killed and another was injured following a two-vehicle collision about 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, in Commerce City.

Colorado State Patrol was called to the intersection of East 120th Avenue and Picadilly Road after 6 a.m. after receiving reports of a 1996 Lexus colliding with a 2012 Dodge pickup truck. Investigators say the Lexus was headed westbound on 120th Avenue when it crossed the center line and hit the eastbound truck head on.

The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The truck driver went to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The names of the drivers have not been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
