COMMERCE CITY – Platte Valley Medical Center announced it will be building its first off-site medical office building at the King Soopers retail center in the Reunion Marketplace in Commerce City. The new site will be a place where residents can consult their family doctor, OB/GYN or pediatrician.
The land purchase was finalized last week, and the project is scheduled for completion in October 2014, a hospital news release announced Monday.
“Platte Valley Medical Center is committed to improving health care access to the communities we serve,” PVMC CEO John Hicks said. “This new venture expands service to northern Commerce City, a community that currently has very limited access to medical providers.”
The one-story, 11,800 square foot building will be next to King Soopers. Its design will mirror the style and shape of the hospital’s medical office building on the hospital campus on Prairie Center Parkway in Brighton.
Upon completion, Eagle Ridge Family Medicine, Premier Pediatrics and Alcott Women's Center will occupy the building upon completion. Premier Pediatrics and Alcott Women's Center will relocate from their location at Turnberry Marketplace in Commerce City.
Additionally, there will be approximately 4,900 square feet for lease to other similar medical businesses. Health Connect Properties is the project manager and leasing agent for the remaining space and the architect is Studio D-H Architecture. A general contractor has not been selected.
A groundbreaking will take place in the first quarter of 2014.
