The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge expanded the bison grazing area. Formerly visitors viewed the massive animals behind a fence but the new expansion will allow visitors to be up close and personal with the animals. Much of the new area now includes access via the wildlife viewing loop road. While it is possible to have a close encounter visitors are prohibited from leaving their cars for safety reasons.
