School District 27J wellness fair Jan. 26

    Brighton School District 27J will be holding its sixth annual wellness fair from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 26 at Prairie View Middle School in Henderson. The event is free and open to the public and there will be a number of opportunities to learn about health, fitness and child safety. 
    The Flat 14ers Run/Walk is back and begins at 9 a.m. No fees or prior registration are required.
    Rampart Search and Rescue and local law enforcement are teaming up for a special presentation for parents on how to keep children safe from abduction and predators. The presentation will begin at 10 a.m. and there will be an opportunity for parents to ask any questions they may have. Parents and their children will be able to see the search and rescue 4-wheelers and meet the search and rescue dogs.
    Parents will also have the opportunity to capture their child’s fingerprint and DNA information and learn about a walking school bus.
    Other time-sensitive events include a hands-only CPR training session at 11 a.m. and a blood drive through Bonfils Blood Center from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Appointments to give blood can be made with Katie Lopez of School District 27J at 303-655-2863.
