Tailgaters and soccer fans sit in on a piece of history

COMMERCE CITY — It was a full 90 minutes before the kickoff of the international friendly between the United States women’s national soccer team — the Olympic gold medalists this summer — and the national team from Australia.
    That meant plenty of time for tailgating, barbecues and pitching leaded rings. It also meant there was time for Anne Bevington of Arvada to prepare to take her two daughters into the game.
