Trujillo charged in death of grandson

    BRIGHTON – A Commerce City woman faces first-degree murder and second-degree child abuse resulting in death charges in connection with the death of her grandson.

    Adams County District Attorney Don Quick announced the decision Feb. 21 in the case of Doris Becky Trujillo, 60. Her next court appearance is at 8:30 a.m., Feb. 28, in Adams County Court, Division F.
    Gabriel Andres Trujillo, 4, fell at a home in the 6400 block of Siegal Court Feb. 14. He died three days later at an area hospital. Adams County Coroner spokeswoman Angie Hoffman said the cause of death was “blunt force injuries to the head and neck.”
    A court order sealed documents related to the case. Quick said that was done to preserve the integrity of an ongoing investigation.
