COMMERCE CITY -- Police continued to investigate a pair of serious crashes that left two people in the hospital.
They happened within 15 minutes of each other Thursday night. The first was around 5:30 near U.S. Highway 85 and 60th Avenue. Police said a 3-year-old boy who was riding in the back seat of a Dodge 1500 truck opened the door and fell out onto the highway. An ambulance took the boy to a hospital. His condition was not known Friday morning, and police didn't release the names of anyone involved in the incident.
The second collision happened around 5:45 p.m. in the 6500 block of East 72nd Avenue. Police said a car collided with a 64-year-old man as he was walking across East 72nd Avenue. He went to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No names were released as of Friday morning.
