UPDATE: Westbound I-76 reopens at 88th Avenue

COMMERCE CITY -- Westbound I-76 reopened at 88th Avenue around 1:30 this afternoon. It had been closed for almost three hours because of a crash.

Colorado Department of Transportation Westbound I-76 is closed at 88th Avenue because of a crash. CDOT says a truck that was carrying this structure hit the bridge at Dahlia Street. A crane is en route to the scene to take the structure off the road.

A truck hauling a steel structure hit the Dahlia Street bridge about 10:45 this morning. The Colorado State Patrol rerouted traffic along 88th Avenue and  U.S. Highway 85 until the the end of the clean-up, the completion of a bridge inspection and until a crane could remove the structure from the interstate.
