World Cup qualifier comes to Commerce City

CHICAGO – U.S. Soccer chose Dick's Sporting Goods Park to host a FIFA World Cup qualifier between the United States and Trinidad & Tobago.

The match begins at 5:50 p.m., June 8. It will be televised live on FS1 and Univision.

The U.S. is in fourth place in the qualifying standings. Six teams are in the final round of World Cup qualifying. Come June 11, the men's national team will be in Mexico City for another qualifier against regional rival Mexico.

"In a World Cup qualifying campaign, winning games at home is crucial," said U.S. coach Bruce Arena. "In all ways, Colorado provides a great environment for our team. We are at an important stage of the camaign, and we look forward to the great support."

Dick's Sporting Goods Park is hosting a qualifier for the third consecutive qualifying cycle. The U.S. Team posted two shutout victories, including the snow-filled match against Costa Rica in 2013.

Ticket go on sale to the public at 10 a.m., Friday, April 14.
