  • Romantix store robbed

    MetroWest Report 

    Romantix, an adult book store at 4810 Pontiac St., was robbed just after 6 a.m. on Monday.

    The suspect was armed and is still on the loose.

    A man in a surgical mask and rubber gloves came into the adult boutique, pointed a semiautomatic weapon at the clerk, tied her up, and took the cash from the register, reports said.

    The suspect is about 5'10" tall with a thin build, according to reports.

  • Springs man in custody after crime spree

    A 32-year-old Colorado Springs man alleged to have gone on a multi-day crime spree in Brighton, Castle Rock, and Colorado Springs is now in custody. Brighton police detectives identified the man, who is not being named pending the filing of local charges.

    Brighton detectives expect to file charges in several local cases which occurred over the course of July 23 and 24, including the theft of a truck from Brighton Ford, a vehicle trespass at Prairie Center and several burglaries to Brighton businesses.

  • Inmate makes excessive force complaint against Adams County jail

    An inmate in a wheelchair filed an excessive force complaint against Adams County sheriff’s deputies Aug. 3 for injuries he received at the jail in May 2015.

  • Brighton drunk driver receives eight-year prison sentence

    A Brighton man received an eight-year sentence on Aug. 3 for repeatedly driving drunk and for child abuse, according to a press release from District Attorney Dave Young.

    Wesley Glen Hunt, 35, received the sentence after his fifth drunk driving offense, according to the release from the 17th Judicial District, which includes Adams and Broomfield counties.

  • Theft suspect under arrest

    Police arrested a theft suspect inside a Commerce City Walmart store late July 26, and there's a chance the juvenile may be involved in other crimes as well.

    The incident began with a reported theft in the 2300 block of East 46th Avenue in Denver around 6:30 p.m. Denver Police Department spokesman Doug Schepman said an officer near East 52nd Avenue and Cook Street spotted a car and a person who matched a description from the scene.

    Commerce City police have seen an outpouring of support from residents in the wake of national police-related incidents, including killings in Dallas and Baton Rouge, said spokeswoman Julia Emko.

    Several residents have brought food to the police department in the last few weeks, Emko said.
