• Commerce City police arrest officer for false reporting

    The Commerce City police officer who reported he was shot made up the story, according to police.

    Kevin Lord, an eight-year veteran of the department, was arrested Nov. 13. Details were sketchy late that night. He could face charges of false reporting and attempting to influence a public servant. It's up to the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office to file the charges. Lord bonded out of jail early Nov. 14, according to reports.

    Details on what led to the arrest were not released.

  • Sheriff seeking assistance in homicide case

        COMMERCE CITY — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a homicide Halloween night at 7399 Krameria St., in Commerce City.            

  • Reported police impersonator sought

         COMMERCE CITY — The police department were contacted last week regarding a potential police impersonator near the Belle Creek neighborhood. 
        At about 10 a.m. Nov. 4, an adult female victim, the alleged victim, was approached by a male driving a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, while she was walking in the 10600 block of Belle Creek Boulevard.

  • AdCo woman charged with kidnapping son

        BRIGHTON – District Attorney Dave Young, of the 17th Judicial District, announced last week the filing of kidnapping charges against Tiffany Rasnic, 31, for abducting her son in violation of a protection order.

        Rasnic is charged with second-degree kidnapping (F4), violation of custody (F5) and violation of a protection order (M2).
        She appeared in Adams County Court last week for filing of charges. A disposition hearing is set for Dec. 9 in Division 6.

  • Bond violators wanted

        BRIGHTON — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two suspects wanted for violating terms of their bonds.
        Ernest Fuentes, 31, was out on bond awaiting trial for the charges of third-degree assault and violating a protection order.

        COMMERCE CITY — Commerce City police responded Oct. 29 to a dispatch call of a shooting at Sapp Brothers Travel Center, 7120 E. 49th Ave., in Commerce City.

  • Man shot, wounded in unincorporated AdCo

    The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Sept. 27 outside a strip club near Federal Boulevard and 67th Avenue, in unincorporated Adams County. 

    Law enforcement responded to the scene on a report of a victim with a gunshot wound.  

    The day after the initial incident, at about 3 p.m., detectives with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrested an adult male, whose name was not released.

  • Man sentenced for Thornton condo fire

    An Adams County judge sentenced a man late last month to 160 years in prison for multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder and arson in the fire that destroyed a Thornton condominium complex last March.

  • Boy, 15, sentenced for Broomfield school stabbing

    A 15-year-old boy was sentenced Sept. 30 to 50 months in a youth corrections facility for the stabbing of a 14-year-old student in April, at Aspen Creek Elementary School, in Broomfield. The boy, who was 14 at the time, stabbed the girl April 30, outside the school. She was flown to Children’s Hospital and survived.

  • Suspect charged in apartment complex fire

    A 33-year-old man has been charged with 34 counts of arson and criminal mischief stemming from an apartment complex fire last month, in Westminster.
