Armed car-jacking suspect remains free

Commerce City police continue to look for an armed suspect in a double car-jacking Wednesday, July 13.

A male suspect stole an SUV at gunpoint near the Dollar General store at 7400 Colo. Highway 2 around 5:45 p.m., according to a press release from the police department. The suspect headed eastbound until abandoning the car at the intersection of Highway 2 and 72nd Avenue.

Then, the suspect ran into the nearby 7-11 parking lot at 6302 E. 72nd Ave. and stole a 2014 Honda Civic at gunpoint. He fled eastbound on 72nd Avenue.
