Some parents want to start a “Fifth-day Career and Computer School” to keep local kids learning on Mondays, now that School District 27J has announced it is going to a four-day week in the fall.

The new school would offer additional programs for high school students, said Eagle Ridge Avademy parent Leslie Hurr.

“My child will stay home and play video games all day, and I’d really rather him have a more constructive direction,” said Eagle Ridge Academy parent Leslie Hurr.
