Firefighters from South Adams County were among those called to put out a house fire near 70th Avenue and Broadway July 10.

The fire started shortly after 11:15 a.m. in the 7000 block of Jennie Drive. Officials said a passerby alerted them to the fire by calling 9-1-1.

South Adams County Fire Department spokesman Carlos Briano said residents were able to get out safely. Nineteen firefighters and seven units from Adams County Fire Rescue kept the fire to the attic. Briano said a female needed to go to an area hospital. Her injuries were not believed to be serious.
