Officer-involved shooting leaves man dead

An Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and killed a man at Pinetree Village Apartments Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Neither the man’s name, nor the sheriff’s deputy’s name, was immediately released.

The deputy used his Taser and eventually fired his weapon at the man, who was in the hallway at the apartments at 7520 Broadway, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. The deputy also was transported to the hospital due to a head injury sustained in the fight with the man, according to the statement.

The deputy will be placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. The Adams County Critical Incident Team will investigate the incident, according to a press statement.
