BRIGHTON — Jazmyne Davis was a relatively healthy young woman until she was about to turn 13 years old.

That’s when the doctors told her she had a rare form of bone cancer – Ewing’s Sarcoma. PVHS student council advisor and social studies teacher Kevin Purfurst said 400 youngsters get the diagnosis. During the holidays, Purfurst said the cancer spread to her spine, and Davis is paralyzed from the waist down. More recent scans indicate the cancer spread farther.
