AURORA – CHSAA's legislative council turned down a bid to get rid of the girls 800-meter sprint medley relay at ther state track-and-field meet.

Colorado is one of two states to offer the relay. A reason to get rid of the relay was the lack of a similar event at state for boys teams.

CHSAA's track and field committee chairman, Darryl Abeyta of Primero High School, said his committee "felt it was time to move on."
