• Gabrielle H. Johnson

    Gabrielle H. Johnson, 32, of Commerce City, died Feb. 25, 2009, in her home.

    Gabrielle H. Johnson, was born May 1, 1976 in Albert Lea, Minn. to Craig R. and Debra R. (Hanson) Knudtson. She was a 1995 graduate of Albert Lea High School in Minnesota. She married Jamie D. Johnson Nov. 10, 2001. in Albert Lea.

  • Kimberly Kenneth Timmerman

    Kimberly Kenneth Timmerman, 53, of Pueblo, died Feb. 20, 2009, at The Denver Hospice after a lengthy illness.

    Kim was born Sept. 13, 1955, in Denver, to Floy and Kenneth Timmerman. He was raised in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1973. He married Sharon Trujillo April 21, 1990. They made their home in Cañon City and later Pueblo.

    Kim worked as an auto body man. He studied history and politics. He fought long and hard for eight years to conquer his illness. Following his death, his body was donated for medical research at his request.

  • Alden “Al” D. Conger,

    Alden “Al” D. Conger, Jr., 84, of Thornton, died Feb. 5, 2009.

    Al was born Sept. 10, 1924. He was a past president of the Professional Insurer’s Association and past Kiwanian.

    Survivors include his long-time companion and closest friend, MaryAnn; his three children, David, Barbara and Virginia; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

    A memorial gathering was Feb. 21 in Thornton.

    Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.

  • Norman Glen Norfleet

        U.S. veteran Norman Glen Norfleet, 85, of Fort Lupton, died Feb. 15, 2009, in his home.

        He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Norfleet, Ky. to Dewey and Coila (Flynn) Norfleet. He married Arlene Mae Wiggett April 3, 1948, in Socorro, N.M.

        Survivors include his wife; son, Steven of Lakewood; daughters, Judy Paden of Denver and Sharon Norfleet of Louisville; sister, Rebecca Anderson of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Athel N. and Richard; sisters, Nettie Sumpter, Flossie Muse and Erma Glover.

  • Janet (Nelson) Warner

    Janet (Nelson) Warner, 56, of Highlands, Texas, died Feb. 14, 2009, at home.

    She was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Ogallala, Neb. to Fred Nelson and Dolly Brill. Janet was a graduate of Julesburg High School and Metro State College of Denver. She was a resident of Colorado prior to moving to the Houston area. Janet lived in Highlands for the last four years and was a corporate recruiter with BEI Engineering of Pasadena, Texas.

  • Shirley A. Blakey

    Shirley A. Blakey, 73, of Brighton, died Feb. 17, 2009, in her home.

    She was born June 9, 1935, in Windom, Minn., to Lester and Alice (McShea) Jurgens. She was a 1953 graduate of Windom High School in Minnesota. She married Gordon R. Blakey Nov. 23, 1953, in Windom.

    Shirley was a homemaker and mother of seven. She moved to the Denver metro area in the early 70s and lived in Brighton since 1993. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

  • Dionicio Jose Brito Jr.

    Dionicio Jose Brito Jr., 84, of Brighton, died Feb. 18, 2009, in Brighton.

    He was born April 11, 1924, in Garita, N.M., to Dionicio and Nicholasa (Aguilar) Brito. He married Dora Chavez in 1943.

    Dionicio worked for the Great Western Sugar Factory for many years. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Frances (Joseph) Martinez of Thornton; son, Roy (Louise) Brito of East Alton, Ill.; brother, Joe Brito, of Tucumcari, N.M.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

  • Nancy D. Ransom

    Nancy D. Ransom, 95, of Fort Collins and formerly of Brighton, died Feb. 11, 2009, at the Columbine Care Center West in Fort Collins.

    She was born April 5, 1913, in Denver, to William B. and Adele (Simmions) Dugdale. Nancy graduated from high school and attended two years of college. She married James F. Ransom.

    Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen (Gary) Schnorr of Ault; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Helen Braun and Audrey Dugdale; three nieces; and many great-nieces and nephews.

  • John Nelson

    John Nelson, of Golden and formerly of Fort Lupton, died Feb. 7, 2009, at Boulder Community Hospital.

    He was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Fort Lupton. After graduating from Fort Lupton High School, he went to Kansas City to study at the Stevinson Chevrolet Automotive School. After completion, he returned to Golden at Stevinson Chevrolet as a

    mechanic and worked there for 40 years. Some of his happiest moments were spent with family and friends.

  • Nancy J. Henry

    Nancy J. Henry, 89, of Brighton, died Feb. 11, 2009, in her home.

    She was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Longmont, to Brian and Margaret (Howe) Rundle. She graduated from Longmont High School and earned her teaching degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

    She married LaMar C. Henry May 28, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. They were married for 64 years. Nancy started her teaching career in Fort Lupton, continued in Brighton and ended her career in Goodland, Kan. She was a member of the Brighton PFO and the Brighton First Presbyterian Church.
