  • Deputy arrested

    The Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrested one of its own recently, following a disturbance at a deputy’s home.

    Fellow deputies arrested Vincent Potter, 33, Tuesday, April 30, at his home in unincorporated Adams County south of Thornton. He is on paid administrative leave from his job at the Adams County Jail pending an internal investigation. He is free on bond.

  • Former B-Right-On owner arrested on drug charges

    The owner of B-Right-On Sewing & Vacuum, who announced earlier this month the store’s closing after 15 years in Brighton, was arrested a little less than a year ago on felony drug charges.

  • Henderson man allegedly assaulted officer

    Police took a Henderson resident into custody on charges of first degree assault on a police officer Friday, March 2, in the 11200 block of River Run Parkway.

    Rueben Alba, 45, allegedy fired one shot and barricaded himself in his home when Commerce City police asked him to come out, according to a press release. Officials placed the nearby J.W. Thimmig Elementary School, 11453 Oswego St., on a “lockout” in the middle of the day and sent out a reverse 911 call to residents asking that they stay inside their homes.

  • Lopez charged with first-degree murder

    Officials have charged Joseph Michael Lopez, 22, with felony first-degree murder after deliberation in connection with the death of Natalie Bollinger, a 19-year-old from Broomfield.

    Bollinger was reported missing on Dec. 28. Her body was found in the 11600 block of Riverdale Road in Adams County the following day. The coroner determined she died of a single gunshot to her head.

  • Sheriff's deputy shooting suspect appears in court

    The 22-year-old man accused of murdering an Adams County sheriff's deputy made his first court appearance Jan. 26.

    Dreion Martise Dearing is due back in Adams County District Court at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, for the filing of formal charges.
