Fire breaks out at old ACHS building
Building had been empty since 2009

South Adams County fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire at the former Adams City High School building near East 69th Avenue and U.S. Highway 85.
It started around 8 a.m. July 15, Crews from the South Adams and Adams County fire departments were on the scene. A tweet from the South Adams County Fire Department said the fire it out and that crews were able to keep the fire confined to the theater.
No one was in the building. It had been empty since 2009 after the school moved to its present location at East 72nd Avenue and Quebec Street.
No injuries were reported. As of 4 p.m.., there was no cause. Investigators remained on the scene.
